Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city and former capitol of Brazil. It is also the most visited city in the southern hemisphere, best known for its carnival celebrations, samba dancers, Corcovado Mountain and the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer. Enjoy the highlights of this vibrant city including Tijuca Forest and the beaches of Rio.

Day 1:
Upon arrival at Rio de Janeiro International airport you will be met for your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure, either relaxing at your hotel or getting to know the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, the restaurants and the boutiques in the nearby boulevards. Sunset in Rio de Janeiro is spectacular and Ipanema Beach offers the best views.
We suggest you head there and watch the show over a chilled beer or a fresh coconut milk.

Day 2: Christ the Redeemer City Views

This morning your tour will begin with a drive through Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. Driving through the trees you'll reach the peak of Corcovado Mountain, home to the iconic statue of 'Christ the Redeemer'. High above the city Corcovado offers spectacular views of Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf, the beaches and the ocean.
You'll then return to your hotel and have the afternoon free to enjoy the beaches and the sunset at your leisure.

Day 3: Historical Center and Sugarloaf

Today's tour of Rio takes you to the historic city center in the morning, passing the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Candelaria Church, as well as many more of the city's important buildings. You will then be taken to the base of Sugarloaf Mountain from where you'll ride the famous cable car to the top. This amazing feat of engineering was the first cable car in Brazil, and only the third in the entire world.
Taking passengers way up to the top of Sugarloaf, 300m above the sea, the views over Guanabara Bay, Copacabana Beach and up to Corcovado are about as spectacular as you can get. The afternoon and evening are free for you to enjoy the beaches, boutiques, bars and restaurants at your leisure.

Day 4: Relaxing in Rio

Today is free for you to enjoy the Marvelous City' in whichever way you choose. Options include helicopter rides over the city, boat trips or tandem hang-gliding. You could also head out of Rio to Petropolis, the mountain town where the Emperors of Brazil spent their summers, or to Buzios, Brazil´s most glamorous beach town.
Other options include taking classes in Brazilian cuisine, Land Rover trips through the dunes, horseback rides through the mountains or treks to Rio´s most famous peaks. Back in the city you can witness the famous Brazilian passion for football, head to the Museum of Contemporary Art or to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Day 5: Leaving Brazil

International flights often leave Rio de Janeiro in the evening, so depending on the time of your flight, you may have time to enjoy a morning at the beach and some lunch before heading to the airport. Whatever the case may be your guide will pick you up from your hotel in good time for your transfer to the airport.
